SHOOTING DOGS IN THE U.S.

SHOOTING DOGS is coming to theatres in the U.S. under the title BEYOND THE GATES. It is opening in New York City on March 9th and rolling out to more cities in the following weeks!

So if you are in the States, you will now have a chance to see this incredibly powerful film.
There is also a terrific new website for the film's US release:

http://www.beyondthegates-movie.com

The site is visually stunning and is filled with compelling features, including an in-depth look into the story, helpful links and information about joining the cause to bring an end to genocide worldwide, and even a special feature about filming on location in Rwanda. Of course, the trailer and showtimes are available there as well. It’s definitely worth checking out!

I would be grateful if someone connected to the film "Shooting Dogs" could contact me regarding a screening request for the film. I am the coordinator of the Manitoba Campaign to Ban Landmines and our email address can be found at our website which I've provided in the sign in.

I really want to see this film, however I don't live in any of the major cities in which it will be showing. I'm guessing I may have to wait until the dvd release ... any ideas on when this will happen?

I saw it last month and I loved it. In Spain it´s called "Disparando Perros".

Is Shooting Dogs going to be released theatrically in Australia? I saw it at the Melbourne Film Festival last year and thought it was very powerful.

Hi, I just wanted you guys and girls to know that we're screening a documentary in London, UK on Wed 7th Nov and it ties in with the 'Shooting Dogs' theme a lot because it's about hope, in this case, in South Africa.

Life in a South African township is seen through the eyes of seven pupils of Velabahleke High School as they come together under the parental eye of the Headmaster, Mr Mtshali. The aspirations and everyday lives of the pupils, both in and out of school, interweave to form a story of a generation striving to transcend their backgrounds and achieve what could be theirs in the new South Africa.

Wednesday 7th November

The ArtsZone
54-56 Market Square

I'd rank this film as been one of the best that i have ever seen. It highlights the unseen cruel & destructive consequences of labeling & xenophobia.
What a difference it would make if those with powers of influence (Politicians & those in the Media) could see things in a different light and move away from the use of 'careless' labeling that would do much to rid the world of problems like this rooted in xenophobia.

I thought I was just another one of those who have seen multiple documentaries and movies about the Rwandan Genocide, but this film was incredible. I am in California and just saw the movie on Showtime, and I am so glad that I did, because it was incredible, stupendous... way better than hotel rwanda (that one kind of irritated me). Again, I am so glad that Showtime is showing this to the American audience...
